“Cereal” entrepreneurs Gabi Lewis and Greg Sewit set out to create “childlike cereal for adults” following the successful launch and sale of their first venture, EXO Cricket Protein Bars. The result was Magic Spoon, the perfect breakfast for anyone who loves cereal but wants a healthier option.
Recently launched, Magic Spoon offers direct-to-consumer gluten- and grain-free cereals available in four flavors: Fruity, Cinnamon, Frosted, and Cocoa. Founders Lewis and Sewit are hoping to speak to the inner kid in all of us and to create an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia one bowl at a time.

Q: What does your Sunday routine look like?
On weekends, I try to have no routine. I find breaking from routine for a day or two a week is really powerful. So on Sundays, I’ll usually sleep in, maybe do a couple of hours of work in the late morning, hang out with friends, cook a meal, and possibly go to the gym. Mainly, I’ll just try to enjoy the day and recharge as much as I can before the week gets going.
Q: How do you approach the start of each work week?
Obviously, first up is a bowl of Magic Spoon. Then I create a to-do list for the week, keeping it as short as possible, with no more than one “big” task and 2-3 “small” tasks for each day. I also try not to schedule meetings or calls for the first couple of hours every day, and I find that to be really important. Otherwise, it’s too easy to get swept up in little things and become reactive.
Q: What are some tips for motivating on Monday?
This applies to every day — but I try to get something important done first thing, before any meetings or calls. That sense of accomplishment just makes everything easier, knowing that something big has been ticked off the list, regardless of what else happens at work during the day.
